“Year of tourism cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European (CEE) countries“

"Year of tourism between China and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe (CEE)" was officially announced on 25-26 March in Budapest.

This two-day event organized by the Tourism Coordination Centre for China and the countries of Central-Eastern Europe, and the Hungarian Ministry of Economy, was attended by representatives of 16 countries of Central-Eastern Europe, China, representatives of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), and representatives of the business sector.



First day consisted of a meeting of a working group comprising representatives of the ministries of the CEE countries and national coordinators of the Tourism Coordination Centre. Results this Centre achieved so far were presented at the meeting; possibilities and alternatives were offered on the joint Web site, as well as information on cooperation in tourism education. Slovenia representatives invited the present members to the second high-level meeting to be held on 1-2 September 2015 in Bled, Slovenia.

During the second day of the conference, participants discussed visa facilitation, as well as the presented analysis of Chinese tourists, market structure and trends of Chinese tourist market.

Mr Li Jinzao, head of the China National Tourism Administration had several bilateral meetings during this Conference. Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina Mrs Ermina Salkičević-Dizdarević expressed readiness of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as s countries of Central-Eastern Europe, to cooperate with China, which is an important tourist market for the region. Mr Li Jinzao pointed out that our country is an interesting tourist destination for Chinese tourists and expressed hope that in the future the cooperation between China and Bosnia and Herzegovina would strengthen.
